On 27th February (Friday), our school held the Bookaholic Day: Reading & Joy Unveiled. The theme was “Who Is a Detective? Finding the Lost Treasure.” Students joined two reading explorers, Atlas and Lyra, to outsmart pirates through a detective-themed adventure, successfully protecting the treasure.
That day, we invited different teachers to share detective story reading sessions, recommending great books to students. Classrooms also hosted an interdisciplinary reading activity, the “Little Detective Training Camp.” Students followed the stories and missions in the detective reading handbook and completed challenges in areas such as language skills, logical thinking, and creative thinking.
In addition, each class formed a team of little detectives to take part in the Treasure Hunt, “Case 1: The Phantom Pirates Attack.” Students went to different stations to complete teamwork-based tasks, and they also played games together with parent volunteer helpers who dressed up as pirates. There was also a Treasure Hunt with NETs for Primary 1 students and kindergarten students, where they experienced the fun of treasure-hunting games together with foreign teachers.
The event’s most popular highlight among students was the musical “Purple Music world”: The Detective Holmes Purple Lee, the queen of children’s songs, together with her professional team, presented an outstanding detective-themed musical for the students. The show was lively and fun, and with interactive games and the performers’ singing, students were fully engaged throughout.
